Our Story

We have been in the restaurant business for 21+ years. Our first business, Tan Dinh, opened in 1992 and was a small sandwich shop that was located in Van Nuys. At the time Vietnamese Cuisine was not fully popularized as it was now, so it was difficult for us to make this a full time job. The restaurant was later sold as we hoped to eventually open a bigger restaurant.

That restaurant was Song Phat in Canoga Park. It opened in 1995 and Song Phat was doing well for a good 5 years but we decided to sell. later that year, in 2000, we opened the restaurant, Hong Phat in Van Nuys. We stayed at that location for about ten years before deciding to sell the restaurant again and opening Pho 21 in 2011. We hope you’ll give us a visit, grab a bite, and add your photo to our wall!
